An introduction from Asylum.no

What do we mean when we say peace?

Our starting point is that peace should also be discussed through people’s everyday lives.

This is an editorial introduction, not a peer-reviewed research publication.

A broad perspective

We want to make room for questions about safety, trust and the possibility of planning a future. That does not mean these questions share one answer, or that one academic approach is sufficient.

A conversation across levels

International processes and local experience need not describe the world in the same way. We want to explore how their differences can generate better questions instead of being smoothed away.

Beginning with questions

Whose voice is heard when safety is described? What makes knowledge useful to the people who will use it? We offer this as an invitation to academic dialogue, not a finished conclusion.

ACADEMIC DIALOGUE

Let’s make room
for more perspectives.
